Welcome to the Type 2 Diabetes educational site, created by Duke University School of Medicine. Diabetes is a chronic illness that requires long-term management and significant time, resources, and energy on the part of the patient. Since 1980, the prevalence of diabetes has doubled, making it vital that providers develop strategies they can apply to the growing challenge of helping patients to live well and remain healthy. This entails staying current on evolving medical and lifestyle treatment strategies. The activity is appropriate for all providers but is intended for those who provide primary diabetes care, and in this capacity, coordinate care over time. It consists of a CME-certified monograph and four CME-certified interactive case studies. For CME information related to the written monograph, please access the document
here.
These case studies provide information about prevention, early detection, and multifaceted therapy for diabetes.
You may also choose to download the entire
monograph and review the content in this printed fashion. Note that the case studies are not provided in this format, however. The following CME information is applicable to the four interactive case studies only.
Jointly sponsored by the Duke University School of Medicine and
Jespersen & Associates, LLC. This CME activity is supported
by an educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline.
